Workforce investment <br />2 activities authorized by WIA are provided at the local level via the One-Stop <br />3 de 1 i very system to i ndi vi dua 1 sin need of those servi ces . i nc 1 udi ng job <br />4 seekers. dislocated workers. youth. incumbent workers. new entrants to the <br />5 workforce. veterans. persons with di sabi 1 iti es and employers. The WIA's <br />6 primary purpose is to provide workforce investment activities that increase <br />7 the employment. retention. and earnings of the participant. and increase <br />8 attainment of occupational skills by participants. <br />9 4.13 Workforce Investment Board (WIB): A consortium of local business <br />10 and communi ty 1 eaders who sha 11 provi de pol i cy gui dance and overs i ght to a <br />11 local Workforce Investment Plan that is responsive to the workplace needs of <br />12 business and job seekers alike. <br />13 4.14 Workforce Investment Plan: A local plan created under the WIA. <br />14 and administered by the WIB on behalf of CONTRACTOR. that provides a <br />15 coordinated mix of services that best meets the workforce investment needs of <br />16 the local labor market. <br />17 5. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES. STAFFING <br />18 5.1 CONTRACTOR agrees to provide those services. facilities. equipment <br />19 and supplies as described in the exhibits to the Agreement Between County of <br />20 Orange and City of Santa Ana. for the Provision of Welfare-To-Work 'Employment <br />21 Services. attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference: Exhibit "A" <br />22 relating to Community Service Activities. and Exhibit "B" relating to Work <br />23 Experience Activities. <br />24 5.2 Subject to thirty (30) days advance notice. ADMINISTRATOR may. in <br />25 its sole discretion. require changes in staffing patterns in accordance with <br />26 workload demands related to the number of clients to be served. <br />27 5.3 Upon the request of ADMINISTRATOR. CONTRACTOR shall send <br />28 appropriate staff to attend an orientation session and subsequent training <br /> <br />(WBC0406) <br /> <br />7 of 37 <br /> <br /><4119/2006) <br />
