90.B. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Lutz expressed sympathy to Laura Garthe on the death of her husband John <br />Garthe, former Mayor and Fire Chief of Santa Ana, which was echoed by all <br />Councilmembers. <br /> <br />Councilmember Richardson: <br /> <br />reported inclusion of the Bowers Museum in an article entitled "Must See Museums" <br />published in the July 5, 1993 issue of US News and World Report; <br /> <br />requested staff investigate a recent requirement by the US Postal Service that business <br />owners along 3200-3300 W. First Street place mail boxes on the street for curb <br />delivery rather than delivery to the business facility; <br /> <br />indicated that he and Councilmember Mills had met with staff to discuss the use of <br />"speed humps" to slow traffic in residential areas on a trial basis; and <br /> <br />requested staff meet with representatives of Heninger Park to discuss implementation <br />of the Rental Inspection Program in that area. <br /> <br />Councilmember Mills expressed support for the use of "speed humps." She also encouraged <br />motorists to be patient during the initial adjustment period when the Main Street Bridge is <br />closed on July 8 for the Interstate 5 widening. <br /> <br />Councilmember Moreno reiterated his request for Council support of a program to assist the <br />homeless. He also requested the designation of the Minnie Street neighborhood as the Rental <br />Housing Inspection Program's next inspection area be placed on the July 19, 1993 Council <br />Meeting Agenda. <br /> <br />Mayor Young asked the City Manager to establish a schedule for the Council to complete <br />discussions regarding the 2020 Master Plan for the City, recommended that the Council <br />meeting be adjourned in honor of former Mayor John Garthe, and requested staff develop an <br />appropriate recognition of Garthe's service to the City. <br /> <br />RECESSED TO CLOSED SESSION - ROOM 147 - 8:34 P.M. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council announced that the City Council was recessing to Closed Session <br />pursuant to: <br /> <br />Government Code Section 54956.9(a) to confer with the City Attorney regarding <br />pending litigation which had been initiated formally into which the City was a party to <br />wit: <br /> <br />Tobe vs. City of Santa Aha, and pursuant to <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 259 JULY 6, 1993 <br /> <br /> <br />
