The materials are purchased through <br />the Central Stores warehouse for distribution. The contract for brass <br />water service fittings is designed to provide quality products at a <br />significant savings based on quantity pricing. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on May 3 and 5, 2006, and bids <br />were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as <br />follows: <br /> <br />13 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />5 Invitations For Bid mailed to Santa Ana vendors <br />2 Bids received <br />1 Bid received from a Santa Ana vendor <br /> <br />Bids were received, opened on May 24, 2006, and evaluated. The bid <br />received from Ferguson Waterworks, a Santa Ana vendor, is responsive to <br />the specifications and meets the City's requirements.
