Adopt ordinance ordering, calling, and giving notice of a Special <br />Municipal Election to be consolidated with the City's General <br />Municipal Election and held in the City of Santa Ana on November 7, <br />2006 for the submission of questions to the voters relating to changes <br />in the City's Charter. <br /> <br />2. Adopt ordinances implementing proposed charter amendments, as follows: <br />a. An ordinance of the City Council of the City of <br />Santa Ana amending section 2-101 of the Santa <br />Ana Municipal Code relating to Council <br />organization; <br />b. An ordinance of the City Council of the City of <br />Santa Ana adding section 2-110 to the Santa Ana <br />Municipal Code, relating to council member <br />salaries; and <br />c. An ordinance of the City Council of the City of <br />Santa Ana amending Chapter 2, Article 8 Of the <br />Santa Ana Municipal Code, relating to City <br />Manager's authority to enter contracts. <br /> <br />3. Adopt resolution requesting the Board of Supervisors of Orange County <br />to consolidate the Special Municipal Election of the City of Santa Ana <br />with the City and State's General Election. <br /> <br />4. Adopt resolution authorizing Councilmembers to file written arguments <br />for or against the various proposed charter amendments. <br /> <br />5. Direct the Clerk of the Council to prepare guidelines for preparation <br />of arguments for/against the proposed charter amendments, fix August <br />1, 2006 as the date for the submission of arguments, and post the <br />notice for the argument process in accordance with the provisions of <br />the California State Elections Code. <br /> <br />508-1 <br />
