Award a contract to Unique Performance Construction, Inc., the lowest <br />responsible bidder, in accordance with a lump sum price in the amount <br />of $249,500 for the Santa Ana Zoo central restroom renovation. <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $311,800. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The restroom facilities at the Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice Park have become <br />worn (Exhibit 1). In addition, with increased attendance at the Zoo, the <br />existing restroom building is not sufficient to handle the quantity of <br />visitors. To address the capacity issue, staff is recommending the <br />renovation of the existing restroom building and refurbishment of an <br />abandoned restroom building. This renovation will increase capacity, <br />provide modern fixtures and improve the visual appearance of the zoo. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on April 10 and 12, 2006, and <br />bids were opened on May 4, 2006.
