FOR <br />NATIONAL POLLUTION DISCHARGE <br />ELIMINATION SYSTEM INSPECTION <br />SERVICES <br />r ~' ~-~ <br />CITY MANAGER <br />,: <br />,RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1S' Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2"d Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and <br />Clerk of the Council to execute a second amendment to the agreement with <br />Geomatrix Consultants Inc. in the amount of $100,000 for a total contract <br />amount of $600,000 and extending the agreement for one year to provide <br />National Pollution Discharge Elimination System services. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency is responsible for the implementation of the <br />City's National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) stormwater <br />permit. In accordance with the City's permit requirements, all high <br />priority industrial sites need to be inspected annually, medium priority <br />industrial sites inspected semi-annually, and low priority commercial <br />sites inspected once every three years. Additionally, the City is <br />required to respond to any illegal discharges that emanate from private <br />property onto public property. <br />On July 18, 2005 City Council approved <br />Geomatrix Consultants Inc. in the amount <br />amount of $500,000 for inspection <br />facilities.
