In response to Mayor Young's question, the Clerk of the Council reported that the cost of a <br />special election could range between $87,500 and $140,000 and that the earliest date for such <br />an election would be the first Tuesday in March 1994. <br /> <br />By the unanimous informal consent of the Council, the Ward 6 Councilmember Office was <br />declared vacant. <br /> <br />The Mayor instructed the City Manager to notify community organizations in Ward 6 of the <br />vacancy and to report the results of his communications to the Council. The Mayor noted <br />that prospective appointees must be residents of Ward 6 for one year prior to the time of <br />appointment and indicated that the Council would review all applications for the position at <br />the November 15, 1993 Council meeting. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT - 8:43 P.M. - In honor of Councilmember Richards L.
