NO. 03-047) <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Renew the contract with Midway City Feed Company for animal food for a one- <br />year period in an annual amount not to exceed $30,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />Various types of animal food are required for the Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice <br />Park. The contract for animal food is designed to provide quality products <br />at significant savings based on quantity pricing. <br /> <br />On June 17, 2003, the City Council awarded a contract to Midway City Feed <br />Company for a two-year period with provision for two, one-year renewals. <br />The vendor has agreed to renew the contract; however the vendor has <br />requested an eight percent increase due to increases from the animal food <br />manufacturers.
