<br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />JULY 3, 2006 <br /> <br />TITLE: <br />AGREEMENT FOR INFORMATION <br />TECHNOLOGY AND COMPUTER SUPPORT <br />SERVXCES <br /> <br />O~t2 <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 1" Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2"' Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and <br />Clerk of the council to execute an agreement with Sapphire Technologies <br />in an amount not to exceed $400,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The technological advances being implemented by the Fire Department has <br />created an immediate need for expert staffing in the field of information <br />technology and computer support services. proj ects such as the Mobile <br />Data Computer implementation, Computer Aided Dispatch, and the general <br />increase in centralized computer services used at the Fire Department <br />require expertise and personnel that is currently limited. Sapphire <br />Technologies provides personnel with the expertise required and unique to <br />fire service agencies, including the Orange County Fire Authority.
