L. Miller, Inc. for exterior doors and benches in <br />the amount not to exceed $16,654. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Colors of the Amazon bird aviary located at the Santa Ana Zoo at <br />Prentice Park was constructed in 1995. The exhibit includes four birch <br />wood entry doors and 6 hal f -log benches. These doors and benches have <br />deteriorated due to normal use and constant exposure to the elements. The <br />contract will provide for the replacement of the doors and benches and will <br />help maintain clean, attractive facilities. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on June 9 and 12, 2006, and bids <br />were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as <br />follows: <br /> <br />15 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />3 Invitations For Bid mailed to Santa Ana vendors <br />1 Bid received <br /> <br />Bids were received and opened on June 26, 2006. The bid received from H. <br />L. Miller, Inc. is responsive to the specification and meets the City's <br />requirements.
