Box 1988
Santa Ana, California 92702
ATTN: MINDY LY
SITE: SANTA ANA FIRE STATION NO. 6
950 WEST MACARTHUR BOULEVARD
SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA
RE: COST PROPOSAL TO PERFORM ALTERNATING WEEKLY
GROUNDWATER WELL PURGING FEASIBILTY TESTING
Dear Ms. Ly:
TRC submits this cost proposal to perform alternating weekly groundwater well purging
feasibility testing at the above referenced site. This cost estimate has been prepared in
response to the California Regional Water Quality Control (RWQCB) Board letter dated
November 6, 2007 (attached) approving the recommendation that limited remediation be
continued at the site. Six additional groundwater over purge events will be conducted. This
limited feasibility testing will recover groundwater from four onsite and one offsite wells to
evaluate the effectiveness of this method to reduce groundwater contamination
concentrations.
PROPOSED ACTIVITIES
• Gauge depth to water in four onsite wells and one offsite well prior to the initiation
of each groundwater pumping event.
• Purge four onsite wells and one offsite groundwater monitoring well, MW -4 through
MW -7 and MW -8 on a bi- weekly basis for three months (6 groundwater removal
events).
• Evaluate depth to water in each well and determine if recharge warrants additional
groundwater recovery from one or more of the wells.
• Collect and dispose of non - hazardous purged groundwater at an approved recycling
facility.
