Approval of the proposed amendment to <br />the Municipal Code to establish an ordinance for the regulation <br />of Big Box retail uses would not involve the construction of any <br />structures that would be subject to geotechnical constraints. <br />Through the conditional use permit process, future Big Box <br />retail uses implemented under the proposed ordinance would be <br />evaluated for potential soil constraints. Additionally, future <br />Big Box retail uses implemented under the proposed ordinance <br />would be required to use sewer systems. <br /> <br />VI. HAZARDS/HAZARDOUS MATERIALS <br /> <br />A. Create a significant hazard to the public or the <br />environment through the routine transport, use or disposal <br />of hazardous materials? <br />B. Emit hazardous emissions or handle hazardous or acutely <br />hazardous materials, substance or waste within one-quarter <br />mile of an existing or proposed school? <br />C. Be located on a site which is located on a list of <br />hazardous material sites compiles pursuant to Government <br />Code Section 659662.5 and, as a result, would it create a <br />significant hazard to the public or the environment? <br /> <br />No Impact <br /> <br />Approval of the proposed amendment to the Municipal Code to <br />establish an ordinance for the regulation of Big Box retail uses <br />would not result in the creation of or increase the potential of <br />any significant hazardous material impacts to the public, in <br />that the approval of the proposed ordinance would not involve <br />any activities that would include the handling, storage or <br />distribution of hazardous materials or emit hazardous emissions. <br />Future Big Box retail uses implemented under the proposed <br />ordinance could involve the handling of incidental amounts of <br />hazardous materials such as paints and solvents.
