<br />RESOLUTION 2006-050 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA TO AMEND RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO <br />AMEND THE CITY'S BASIC CLASSIFICATION AND <br />COMPENSATION PLAN TO ADD SPECIAL PAY <br />PROVISIONS FOR THE CLASSIFICATION TITLES OF <br />FORENSIC SPECIALIST I AND FORENSIC SPECIALIST II. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa Ana <br />requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position <br />classification and pay plan subject to civil service rules and regulations <br />and the approval of the City Council. <br /> <br />B. On August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution No. <br />82-110 revising and re-establishing the Basic Classification and <br />Compensation Plan for all officers and employees of the City of <br />Santa Ana. <br /> <br />C. The City of Santa Ana has reached an agreement with the Santa Ana <br />Police Officers Association (POA), and has put forth the Ninth Side Letter <br />Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Fiscal <br />Years 2004-2008 providing special pay provisions for the full time <br />classification titles of Forensic Specialist I and Forensic Specialist II. <br /> <br />D. It is now desired to amend the City's Basic Classification and <br />Compensation Plan in order to effect these changes. <br /> <br />Section 2: That Section 3.1 Special Compensation Provisions (Applicable to <br />Full Time Civil Service Emplovees Onlv. Unless Otherwise Specified) of Resolution <br />82-110, as amended, is hereby further amended by: <br /> <br />A. adding the following pay designation "yy" to the list of special <br />compensation provisions: <br /> <br />"(yy) Incumbents in the classifications of Forensic Specialist I and <br />Forensic Specialist II, who are continuously and regularly assigned as a <br />Tenprint - AFIS Technician, will be paid at a rate set five (5) salary rate <br />ranges (approximately 2.5%) above their then current base monthly salary <br />step." <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2006-050 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
