Adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager and the Chief of <br />Police to execute a grant award agreement with the California Office <br />of Traffic Safety. <br /> <br />2. Approve an appropriation adjustment accepting the California Office of <br />Traffic Safety, Selective Traffic Enforcement Program Grant in the <br />amount of $634,720 into the revenue account (account no. 165-01-5359) <br />and appropriate same into the California Office of Traffic Safety, <br />Selective Traffic Enforcement Program expenditure accounts (account <br />no. 165-343-various). <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Santa Ana Police Department has been awarded a $634,720 grant from the <br />State of California, Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) under the Traffic <br />Safety , Selective Traffic Enforcement Program. This grant funding will <br />allow the Police Department's Traffic Division to employ enforcement and <br />innovative strategies to help in the reduction fatal and serious inj ury <br />traffic collisions. The traffic enforcement operations will be directed at <br />intersections with a history of disproportionate number of traffic <br />collisions. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br /> <br />Approval of the appropriation adjustment will enhance the OTS, Selective <br />Traffic Enforcement Program revenue account (account no. 165-01-5359) by <br />$634,720 and increase the same into the OTS, Selective Traffic Enforcement <br />Program expenditure accounts (account no. 165-343-various). <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br /> <br />i ,) I 1":1 <br />"-- __t2~ ,L ,~ <br /> <br />Paul M.
