<br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />AUGUST 21, 2006 <br />TITLE: <br />APPROPRIATION ADJUSTMENT ACCEPTING <br />ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION <br />AUTHORITY FUNDS FOR THE SENIOR <br />MOBILITY PROGRAM <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 1 st Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />I2P Ot2-- <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Approve an appropriation adjustment accepting $183,840.00 in the Orange <br />County Transportation Authority Senior Mobility Program revenue accounts <br />(account nos. 169-01-5374 and 169-01-5369-1) and appropriate funds to the <br />Senior Mobility Program expenditure accounts (account nos. 169-255- <br />various and 169-248-6291) . <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) developed the Senior <br />Mobility Program for the purpose of improving transportation services for <br />seniors in the region. The Ci ty is in the sixth year of a six-year <br />agreement with OCTA for providing transportation services to Santa Ana <br />seniors to and from our two senior centers and various City events. <br /> <br />For FY 2006-2007, the City of Santa Ana will receive $131,150 to continue <br />the operation of three vehicles used for local senior transportation <br />services. As part of the agreement the City of Santa Ana will provide a <br />20 percent local match, which may consist of in-kind staff resources or <br />other contractual transportation services. Funds for the match are <br />included in the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency FY 2006- <br />07 budget. <br /> <br />In addition, the City will receive $52,690 from OCTA to support the <br />Vietnamese Community of Orange County's (VNCOC) senior mobility program. <br />The VNCOC will receive $52,690 and provide the 20 percent local match <br />required under the agreement. In turn, VNCOC will provide transportation <br />services for the Vietnamese senior community in Santa Ana. <br /> <br />208-1 <br /> <br />- <br />
