<br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />AUGUST 21, 2006 <br />TITLE: <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 1 st Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />RENEW AGREEMENT FOR POLICE JAIL <br />MANAGEMENT SYSTEM <br /> <br />WIJtZ- <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the <br />Clerk of the Council to renew the agreement with CompuDyne Inc. for the <br />maintenance and repair of the Santa Ana Police Jail Management System in <br />an amount not to exceed $45,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />On September 2, 2003, the City of Santa Ana entered into an agreement with <br />Tiburon, Inc. to provide services and maintenance for the Jail Management <br />System (JMS). In 2005, Tiburon changed its name to CompuDyne - Public <br />Safety & Justice Inc. The JMS is utilized to book and track inmates at the <br />Santa Ana Jail facility. The JMS software is proprietary and can only be <br />serviced by CompuDyne.
