City of Santa Ana <br />Community Development Block Grant <br />Scope of Work <br />Name of Organization- OC HUMAN RELATIONS <br />Name of Funded Program- HEART OF THE ORANGE <br />Annual Accomplishment Goal <br />I. Total number of unduplicated clients (Santa Ana and Non-Santa Ana Residents) anticipated to be served by <br />the funded program, named above, during the 12-month contract period. <br />15PERSONS <br />II. Number of only unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served by the funded program, named above, <br />during the 12-month contract period. <br />15PERSONS <br />Program and Funding Description <br />III. Description of Work - In the space below, describe the program to be funded during the 12-month <br />contract period. <br />Outcomes:Over 5 days, I S Santa Ana resident students recmited from art programs at Santa Ana, Century, Garden Grove, Mountain <br />View, Saddleback and Valley High Schools and Cesar Chavez Continuation School will confront Santa Ana social history and <br />interpret that history and the Santa Ana leaders who championed social justice issues through the creation of a public art piece: a <br />mural. At Leigh Steinberg Institutes "Heart of the Orange" Art Camp Santa Ana youth willaeam how to use art, specifically this <br />mural experience, as a means to communicate with different cultures & experiences; explore issues and challenges that these students <br />deal with in their everyday life; develop the leadership skills to lead their peers in addressing these challenges & issues; and talk <br />about new ways to improve our communties and school by using art to understand and record diverse experiences and histories of <br />their city. <br />IV. Activities funded by this grant -How will CDBG funds be used for the funded program? Narratively <br />describe the budget for the funded program illustrated in Exhibit B and B-1. <br />Funds will be used for: <br />1. Program staff salaries. These staff members will manage the program, supervise students, and instmct the art classes that will <br />culminate in the mural's production. <br />2.
