Description of Work - In the space below, describe the program to be funded during the 12-month <br />contract period. <br />Common Ground Community Dispute Resolution Clinic (CGDRC)at Corbin Center intends to offer mediation services and <br />educational workshops to at least 70 adults and families that are among the 2,350 low-income clients that Corbin Community Center <br />serves every year. Through We use of mediation, conciliation and community education, CGDRC will help these Santa Ana residents <br />develop the tools to successfully navigate through common areas of misunderstanding and conflict such as neighbor/neighbor, <br />landlord/tenant, police/community and teacher/pazent disputes. A trained bilingual mediator and trained volunteers will be stationed <br />at the Common Ground location two Thursday evenings per month. The goals:create a client list through Corbin Center <br />referrals;conduct intake interviews with prospective clients;provide mediation conciliation services;resolve at least 50% of dispute <br />claims; and provide workshops to sharpen clients' skills to successfully pursue their own dispute resolution efforts. <br />IV. Activities funded by this grant -How will CDBG funds be used for the funded program? Narratively <br />describe the budget for the funded program illustrated in Exhibit B and B-l. <br />The $5,000 grant monies will be used to fund the bilingual mediator who will be assigned to the Corbin Center two Thursday <br />evenings per month. <br />Exhibit A <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
