RESOLUTION NO. 2006- <br />Lss01/06/05 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND <br />CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE A GRANT AWARD <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF <br />TRAFFIC SAFETY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and <br />declares as follows: <br />A. The Santa Ana Police Department has been selected to receive a grant <br />from the California Office of Traffic Safety in the amount of $634,720.00. <br />B. Grant funding will allow the Police Department to conduct a Selective <br />Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) including DUI/Driver's License <br />checkpoints and patrols, and targeted enforcement of red light runners, <br />aggressive speeders and drivers with unbelted vehicle occupants. <br />Section 2. The City Council authorizes the City Manager and the Chief of Police, <br />or their designee(s), to execute a grant award agreement with the California Office of <br />Traffic Safety in the amount of $634,720.00. <br />Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by <br />the City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting <br />this Resolution. <br />ADOPTED this day of , 2006. <br />Miguel A.
