<br />Lss01/06/05 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006-051 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND <br />CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE A GRANT AWARD <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF <br />TRAFFIC SAFETY <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOllOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and <br />declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. The Santa Ana Police Department has been selected to receive a grant <br />from the California Office of Traffic Safety in the amount of $634,720.00. <br /> <br />B. Grant funding will allow the Police Department to conduct a Selective <br />Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) including DUI/Driver's License <br />checkpoints and patrols, and targeted enforcement of red light runners, <br />aggressive speeders and drivers with unbelted vehicle occupants. <br /> <br />Section 2. The City Council authorizes the City Manager and the Chief of <br />Police, or their designee(s), to execute a grant award agreement with the California <br />Office of Traffic Safety in the amount of $634,720.00. <br /> <br />Section 3.
