NO. 06-113) <br /> <br /> <br />~~ <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Award a contract to Bielski Window & Masonry Cleaning for window cleaning <br />for a two-year period with provision for two, one-year renewals in an <br />amount not to exceed $24,964 annually. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Building Maintenance Division of the Finance and Management Services <br />Agency is responsible for maintenance and repair of various City buildings. <br />The contract will provide for two annual exterior and one annual interior <br />cleaning of the windows of several City buildings, thereby improving their <br />appearance and maintaining clean, attractive facilities. The buildings <br />include City Hall, Council Chambers, Ross Annex, Main Library, Corporation <br />Yard, and the Police Administration Building. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on July 17 and 19, 2006, and bids <br />were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as <br />follows: <br /> <br />6 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />3 Bids received <br />1 Bid received from a Santa Ana vendor <br /> <br />Bids were received, opened on August 3, 2006, and evaluated (Exhibit 1). <br />The bid received from Bielski Window & Masonry Cleaning is responsive to <br />the specification and meets the City's requirements. To allow for <br />unanticipated requirements, a ten percent contingency has been included in <br />the award amount. <br /> <br />22C-1 <br />
