A recent <br />video inspection revealed that the existing pipe is in critical condition <br />and near failure. There are holes and voids in the pipe wall throughout, <br />and in some sections the entire top of the pipe is gone. The most <br />expeditious and cost effective solution in this instance is to <br />rehabilitate the pipeline by means of a cured-in-place pipe liner. There <br />are limited contractors who have the knowledge, experience, and equipment <br />to do this type of work, as it is very specialized. <br /> <br />Staff was able to locate 3 firms in the Southern California region who <br />can meet the specifications and qualify to do this job.
