NO. 06-114) <br />z z <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1" Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2Id Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Award a contract to Painting and Decor LTD for exterior painting of various <br />City buildings in an amount not to exceed $76,670. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Building Maintenance Division of the Finance & Management Services <br />Agency is responsible for maintenance and repair of various City buildings. <br />As part of a routine maintenance schedule, several City buildings require <br />exterior painting, including the light poles and housings, two pedestrian <br />walkways, and metal canopy of the Police Department Parking Structure. <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on July 21 and 24, 2006, and bids <br />were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as <br />follows: <br />13 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />1 Bid mailed to a Santa Ana vendor <br />4 Bids received <br />Bids were received, opened on August 8, 2006, and evaluated (Exhibit 1). <br />The bid received from Painting and Decor LTD is responsive to the <br />specification and meets the City's requirements. To allow for <br />unanticipated requirements, a ten percent contingency has been included in <br />the award amount. <br />22D-1 <br />
