<br />III. Description of Work - In the space below, describe the program to be funded during the 12-month

<br />contract period.
<br />The CSP Youth Shelter located in Huntington Beach is a short-term emergency program for runaway, homeless and at-risk youth
<br />children aged 11-17. The 6-bed program will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year, and will provide
<br />emergency and temporary residential services to youth from low-income families, Program services include a 2-4 week stay,
<br />clothing, showers, meals, education, counseling, life skills training, and 24-hour supervision to youth,
<br />The Shelter will operate on a structured daily schedule, which will include 3 nutritious meals, 2 healthy snacks, and three hours of
<br />academic education by the Shelter Tutor. Daily group activities include goal setting, counseling sessions; and drug and alcohol
<br />abstinence, education, and prevention classes, With trained professionals on staff, the Shelter will provide in-depth counseling to
<br />both teens and families, When youngsters "graduate" from the residential portion of the program, they will be enrolled in the after-
<br />care component, which will include being matched with a qualified mentor; attending a weekly "Grad Group;" 12-step program
<br />meeting; and individual counseling sessions, Family Members will be enrolled in aftercare counseling and ongoing weekly parenting
<br />classes,
<br />The CSP Youth Shelter will provide vital program services to 10 residents of Santa Ana, These will include: residential emergency
<br />shelter, counseling, case management, after-care and parenting classes, In addition, CSP will provide outreach services at Santa Ana
<br />local schools to educate youth on the risks of running away and being in the streets, Presentations will be provided at the five Santa
<br />Ana High Schools and educational materials will be disseminated at all the Middle and High Schools,
<br />
<br />IV. Activities funded by this grant - How will CDBG funds be used for the funded program? Narratively
<br />describe the budget for the funded program illustrated in Exhibit B and B-1.
<br />CDBG funds will be used to cover salary expenses and program supplies, The request for salary expenses will help pay for the time
<br />spent by the youth supervisors providing 24 hour monitoring to Santa Ana youth residing at the shelter, Also, it will help pay for the
<br />expenses of providing clinical services (individual and family therapy) by a professional therapist to both, the youth and their
<br />parents, In addition to this, the CSP will provide shelter services (including: beds, meals, snacks, hygiene items, clothing,and
<br />educational materials, which will be covered with the money requested for program supplies, The cost of the staff services will be
<br />$6,760, An additional $740 will be used for program supplies,
