<br />155:08/29106 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006-056 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR GRANT <br />FUNDS FROM THE CALIFORNIA INTEGRATED WASTE <br />MANAGEMENT BOARD'S TIRE-DERIVED PRODUCT <br />GRANT PROGRAM FOR RUBBERIZED SURFACING OF <br />THE PLAYGROUNDS AT SANTA ANITA AND <br />SANDPOINTE PARKS <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOllOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. Public Resources Code (PRC) Sections 42800 et seq. establishes the waste <br />tire program for the State of California and assigns responsibility for its <br />implementation to the California Integrated Waste Management Board <br />(CIWMB); and <br /> <br />B. CIWMB is authorized to award grants under the waste tire program as <br />identified in its Five- Year Plan for the Waste Tire Recycling Management <br />Program; and <br /> <br />C. Procedures established by the California Integrated Waste Management <br />Board require a grant applicant to certify by resolution City Council approval <br />of the submission of a grant application before submission of said application <br />to the state. <br /> <br />Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana authorizes the submittal <br />of an application to the California Integrated Waste Management Board for a <br />FY2006/2007 Tire-Derived Product Grant Program to install rubberized surfacing in the <br />playgrounds at Santa Anita and Sandpoint Parks. <br /> <br />Section 3. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana authorizes the City <br />Manager or the Executive Director of the Parks Recreation and Community Services <br />Agency or his designee to execute in the name of the City of Santa Ana all necessary <br />applications, contracts, agreements, amendments and payment requests hereto for the <br />purposes of securing grant funds and to implement and carry out the purposes specified <br />in the grant application. <br /> <br />Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by <br />the City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting <br />this Resolution. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2006-056 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
