REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />MAY 1, 2005 <br />TITLE: <br />CONSULTANT S FOR <br />BRISTOL STREET CORRIDOR <br />IIOROVENIENTS <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1$' Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2' Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER A %W06 -100 <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and <br />the Clerk of the Council to execute consultant agreements with: <br />Environmental Services: <br />• Leighton Consulting, Inc. for a total contract amount of $200,000 <br />• TRC for a total contract amount of $200,000 <br />Fixtures and Equipment Appraisal Services: <br />• Desmond, Marcello & Amster for a total contract amount of $175,000 <br />Goodwill Appraisal Services: <br />• Donna Desmond Associates for a total contract amount of $100,000 <br />• Sanli Pastor & Hill for a total contract amount of $100,000 <br />Demolition Services: <br />• J & G Industries Inc. for a total contract amount of $500,000 <br />• West Coast Land Clearing for a total contract amount of $500,000 <br />• Thomas Land Clearing Ccmpany for a total contract amount of $500,000 <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) adopted their 2006 <br />State Transportation Improvement Program at their November 28, 2005 <br />meeting. As part of this comprehensive program, they approved a funding <br />Plan of $225 million for the Bristol Street Widening Project between <br />Warner Avenue and Seventeenth Street. OCTA committed to program $125 <br />million from Gas Tax Subvention funds in fiscal years 2006/7 through <br />2011/12 and to seek additional $100 million from other sources including <br />federal appropriations, state grants or local funds. <br />In order to meet the funding cash flow availability from OCTA, the <br />improvements between Warner Avenue and Seventeenth Street will be done in <br />four phases: <br />25E-1 <br />
