Left unsecured, the area is susceptible to <br />access by unauthorized personnel and theft. The existing gate controllers <br />are obsolete and replacement parts are unavailable. The contract will <br />provide for the replacement of the gate controllers and quarterly <br />preventative maintenance. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on August 25 and 28, 2006, and bids <br />were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as <br />follows: <br /> <br />10 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />2 Bids mailed to Santa Ana vendors <br />1 Bid received <br />1 Bid received from a Santa Ana Vendor <br /> <br />Bids were received and opened on September 18, 2006. The bid received <br />Vortex Industries, Inc., a Santa Ana vendor, is responsive to <br />specification and meets the City's requirements.
