The existing pump drives in the chlorine generation units <br />operate with low efficiency and need to be replaced in order to maintain <br />system reliability. Once installed, the variable speed digital pump drives <br />will improve the accuracy of the chlorine generation units and the <br />operating efficiency of the City's water production system. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on August 25 and 28, 2006, and bids <br />were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as <br />follows: <br /> <br />21 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />6 Invitations For Bid mailed to Santa Ana vendors <br />1 Bid received <br />1 Bid received from a Santa Ana vendor <br /> <br />Bids were received, opened on September 12, 2006, and evaluated. The bid <br />received from Irvine Pipe & Supply, Inc., a Santa Ana vendor, is responsive <br />to the specifications and meets the City's requirements. <br /> <br />22G-1 <br />
