<br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />OCTOBER 2, 2006 <br />TITLE: <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 1 sl Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />AGREEMENT WITH LEXIPOL, LLC FOR <br />CONSULTING SERVICES <br /> <br />fl1/k2.- <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the <br />Clerk of the Council to enter into an agreement with Lexipol, LLC to <br />provide consulting services in an amount not to exceed $15,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Police Department recommends entering into an agreement with Lexipol, <br />LLC to provide consulting services in the development and administration of <br />police department policies and procedures. Lexipol provides law <br />enforcement agencies with the tools and information to adapt to changing <br />demands on the community, increased risk to officers in the field, jail, <br />and post incident liability. Lexipol provides a consistent, integrated <br />software program of risk management designed to constantly update to <br />reflect the changing precedent setting court decisions, legislation, best <br />practice, and new issues unique to the needs of law enforcement. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br /> <br />Funds are available in the Police Department Patrol Services and Detention <br />Services Other Contractual Services accounts (account nos. 11-337-6291 and <br />11-349-6291) . <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br /> <br />~~ <br /> <br />Paul M.
