<br />Exhibit A <br /> <br />PROPOSAL NARRA TlVE <br />Please answer each question as concisel)' as possible <br /> <br />About the Program <br /> <br />Executive Summar)' <br />Which WlA populatlOn will the program recruit and serve? <br />Youth ages 14-21 <br />In School Participants (Younger Youth, 14-18 years): 10 <br />Out of School Participants(Older Youth, 19-21years): 20 <br /> <br />Indicate how many particIpants to be served: <br />30 Youth residing in the City of Santa Ana <br /> <br />Descrihe your recruitment plan. <br /> <br />Recruitment will take place from five main sources: <br />1. Direct Referrals/Partnerships - Letter of Commitment for 8.l 0 adjudicated youth <br />every l2-weeks from Youth Guidance Center, in Santa Ana (See Attachment" H") <br />2. Juvenile Court System. Letter from Judge Hutson's office providing adjudicated <br />youth as mandated through Juvenile Courts (See Attachment "H') <br />3. Youth agencies in Orange County - \VIA agencies who service at risk and <br />adjudicated youth, and can meet the necessary criteria for participation in the <br />program, including job/career placement programs and numeric/literacy support. <br />Particular partnerships will be established with the Santa Ana Youth Council <br />agencies and services. (See Attachment "H') <br />4. Law enforcement agencies - Organizations such as OC Probation Department <br />and local Police agencies (Santa Ana PD, Anal1eim PD, Fullerton PD, etc) have <br />agreed to refer eligible applicants to the RYTMO Program <br />5. Community Service Programs - Programs (e.g. YWCA, Boys & Girls Club, and <br />all agencies/affiliations that form part of the Santa Ana Youth Council). that service <br />at nsk and/or adjudicated youfu in Orange County are committed to referring local <br />youth to RYTMO <br /> <br />Project RYTMO has established strategic partnerships with organizations and educational <br />institutions that service youth in the Orange County area Through a cooperative <br />relationship with local agencies and educational institutions, candidates are referred directly <br />to RYTMO. <br />Our program is constantly in the process ofreaching out to various agencies in Orange <br />County in the recruitment of young dynamic youth for our program Once candidates are <br />recOllli11ended and referred to Project RYTMO, our staff will screen applicants based on <br />need, history, requirement standards and desire to participate. Other important factors <br />include artistic/musical potential, and willingness/desire to commit to fue entire program <br />design. <br /> <br />11 <br />
