Mayor Pulido complimented the Police Chief on the success of the project, noting Santa Ana's <br />STOP program provided a model for the rest of the country. <br /> <br />Chief Walters encouraged the Councilmembers to attend a "ride along" with the Gang Unit and to <br />tour the Unit's quarters in the new Police Administration building when it opened. <br /> <br />9:30 P.M. - Councilmember Espinoza left the meeting. <br /> <br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />90.A. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Donald E. Miller speaking on behalf of his father requested the Council assist him in procuring a <br />commercial dog kennel permit that had recently been denied by City staff <br /> <br />Mayor Pulido indicated staff would investigate and provide Miller with a copy of staff's response. <br /> <br />90.B. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER COMMENTS <br /> <br />Clerk of the Council Janice Guy reported that Councilmember Moreno had requested his written <br />communication dated October 16, 1996 addressed to City Manager Ream be entered into the <br />record. City Attorney Joseph Fletcher indicated the disclosure was required by statute, but no <br />action was required of the Council. The communication read as follows: <br /> <br />On October 10, 1996, through my telephone conversation <br />with you, I learned I needed to disclose my interest in <br />Town Square. <br /> <br />As you know, before I purchased the property in Town <br />Square, I disclosed my intentions to acquire property to <br />both you and Cindy Nelson, Director of Redevelopment. <br /> <br />A-ffer my disclosure, I was not informed by either you or <br />Cindy Nelson that further written disclosure was necessary. <br /> <br />Per my conversation with you and Joseph Fletcher, I have <br />subsequently divested my ownership interest in the Town <br />Square property and do not have any interest in any real <br />property within the Project Areas. <br /> <br />RECESSED TO CLOSED SESSION - 9:45 P.M. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 320 OCTOBER 21, 1996 <br /> <br /> <br />
