The following speakers suggested the Council actively support Koo's Cafe, a local cooperative <br />for youth that provides an environment where individuality is accepted: <br /> <br />Carolyn Smallwood <br />Jill Fales <br />Efrem Schulz <br />Ray Napoles <br />Patrick Bonfrisco <br />Dennis Lluy <br /> <br />90.B. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Lutz: <br /> <br />- requested staff ensure communication lines with Koo's Cafe are kept open; <br />- thanked those who had supported his re-election; <br />- noted Santa Ana was becoming renowned in the arts community; <br />- wished Miles Leach, a constituent who had recently suffered a fall, a speedy <br /> recovery; and <br />- to the listening audience, a Happy Thanksgiving. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Richardson: <br /> <br />- requested staff provide the Council with a report on the TKO Boxing Program; <br />- noted the Boys and Girls Club was sponsoring a special Thanksgiving dinner for <br /> 105 families on November 26 and a Silent Auction on December 1, indicating <br /> interested persons should call the Club for information; and <br />- opined the actions of the Council and Redevelopment Agency relating to Main <br /> Street demonstrated positive motion toward its revitalization. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGuigan: <br /> <br />- reported she had recently assisted in the dedication of the Court of Serenity <br /> at Fairhaven Memorial Park and also appeared in a television commercial <br /> involving herself and members of the Santa Ana Fire Department. <br /> <br />Councilmember Moreno: <br /> <br />- thanked those who had supported him and Roman Palacios and Hector <br /> Olivares in the recent election, then clarified a number of misstatements in <br /> election flyers; <br />- congratulated Aida Espinoza on her election to the Santa Ana Unified <br /> School District Board; and <br />- wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 346 NOVEMBER 18, 1996 <br /> <br /> <br />
