As <br />part of the expansion, the applicant is requesting that College Avenue <br />between Washington Avenue and 17th Street and portions of 15th Street and <br />Martha Lane) be vacated (Exhibits 1 and 2) . <br /> <br />The vacated streets will be incorporated into the expanded campus. Cul- <br />de-sacs will be built at the east ends of the remaining portions of <br />Martha Lane and 15th Street. <br /> <br />Utility companies, other government agencies and City departments were <br />advised of the street vacations. Easements for the City's water and <br />sewer facilities, traffic signal equipment as well as existing gas lines <br />and overhead utilities will be reserved in the resolution of vacation. <br /> <br />The proposed resolution will abandon the City's street easement at these <br />locations. City staff has been working with the Rancho Santiago <br />Community College District to expand the Santa Ana College campus and <br />recommends the vacation of the street to accommodate the expansion. <br /> <br />75A-1 <br />
