COMMENTS <br /> <br />90.A. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />The following persons requested Council support and assistance in securing funds for the TKO <br />Boxing Club: <br /> <br />Mary Lara <br />Edgar Vargas <br />Rafael Cruz <br />Joey Guzman <br />Manuel Villa <br />Ides Perez <br />John Raya <br /> <br />Margaret Fards commented on a number of subjects, including but not limited to: access to <br />Orange County Transit Authority's transportation system for seniors and disabled persons, new <br />computer equipment at Fullerton College, and support for the TKO Boxing Club; and wished <br />everyone "Happy Holidays!" <br /> <br />In response to the request of Ron Cooke, Adriana Provens, and Vi Benavides for assistance in <br />forming a permit parking district and/or removal of parking meters in the Willard Neighborhood, <br />Mayor Pro Tem Richardson and Councilmember Lutz volunteered to meet with the appropriate <br />staffmembers and the speakers to work out a solution to the neighborhood's parking problems. <br /> <br />Jim Walker noted a significant decrease in tobacco use in California and commended the City <br />Council for its actions to promote non-smoking in Santa Ana. <br /> <br />90.B. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Moreno requested the Clerk to place repeal of last year's water and sanitation <br />rate increases on the January 6, 1997 agenda for Council's consideration. He wished everyone <br />(as did all the Councilmembers) a Happy Holiday Season. <br /> <br />In response to Councilmember Espinoza's inquiry as to when several burned-out houses on S. <br />Bristol Street would be razed; City Manager Ream indicated he would forward a report to <br />Council the next day. Espinoza also reported a large wooden box creating a safety hazard on <br />Alton immediately west of Bear Street and requested staff investigate. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tern Richardson: <br /> <br /> requested a meeting with the City Attorney and Code Enforcement staff regarding <br /> 1600 E. 17th Street; <br /> <br /> asked that landscaping along the flood control channel on S.
