<br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />with the Santa Ana Unified School District; he further noted that there <br />is no fencing between the school and the park, no sidewalks to access <br />the school, and that there is a need for a turning signal at Mohawk. He <br />also raised concerns relative to the number of potholes on Ring Road <br />. Asked staff to expedite street light projects at Birch/MacArthur and <br />5th/Jackson Streets and asked staff to provide an update to the City <br />Council <br /> <br />Councilmember Christv <br />. Remarked that there were many concerns raised by the neighborhood <br />relative to the Godinez High School at Centennial Park; she noted that <br />over the weekend there were many complaints about the field lights <br />being left on and that no one had a key for the fields. She stated that <br />the situation was evidentially corrected thanks to the efforts of the <br />Executive Director of the Parks and Recreation Agency. She asked <br />staff to develop a plan for lights and keys at Centennial Park <br />. Announced that the Youth Expo would be held on Sunday, October 8, <br />2006 from 11 :00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Santa Ana College. <br /> <br />Mavor Pro Tem Bist <br />. Asked staff to review the proposed billboard regulations currently under <br />consideration by the City of Anaheim <br />. Offered her condolences to the family of Deputy Chief Carlson and <br />noted that the funeral service for him was a beautiful send-off and <br />illustrated the respect and admiration that the community felt for him <br /> <br />Councilmember Alvarez <br />. Noted that staff has worked very hard to resolve the numerous issues <br />in the Santa Anita neighborhood and that many requests are doable; <br />she instructed staff to continue to respond and discuss the issues with <br />the neighborhood <br />. Wished everyone a Happy Halloween and a Happy Thanksgiving <br />. Thanked colleagues Mayor Pro Tem Bist and Council members Christy <br />and Garcia for their service to the Council and the community <br /> <br />Councilmember Bustamante <br />. Noted that the 5th anniversary of 9/11 was recently observed and <br />thanked all the military personnel currently serving in Iraq <br />. Reminded parents to keep a close eye on children on Halloween <br />evening <br />. Thanked his colleagues Mayor Pro Tem Bist, and Councilmembers <br />Christy and Garcia for their service on the Council and wished them <br />well in their future endeavors <br />.
