COMMENTS <br />90.A. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />The following speakers opined that the selection process for appointments to City Boards and <br />Commissions discouraged diversity in representation, excluded individuals whose views differed <br />from the Council majority, hindered Councilmember teamwork, and reflected petty politics. <br />Sean Mill <br />Miles Leach <br />Sandra Frederickson <br />Suszan Ales <br />Desi Reyes cited a number of major City streets north of First Street in need of repair and urged <br />the Council investigate all possible street maintenance funding sources. <br />90.13. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />Councilmember Moreno: <br />- requested the Council reconsider its recent approval (acting as the <br />Redevelopment Agency) of additional funding for the Artists Village; <br />- asked the Clerk to place "Police Sub -Stations" on the next Agenda; <br />- reported two bus companies were using the Orange County Register <br />site as a drop-off and requested Code Enforcement and/or the Police <br />Department investigate; and <br />- indicated he had received an official invitation to the Presidential Inauguration <br />but unfortunately had been unable to attend. <br />Councilmember Espinoza reported the basketball courts were not lit at Adams Park and graffiti on <br />the palm trees in the Warner Street median between Raitt and Greenville, and asked staff to <br />investigate. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Richardson: <br />- commented on a number of on -going or recently completed street <br />reconstruction and utility undergrounding projects and requested <br />Public Works Agency Executive Director Jim Ross provide an update <br />on infrastructure improvement projects at a future Council meeting; <br />- indicated the City had received a significant amount of federal funding <br />for the Bristol Street project as a result of Mayor Pulido's efforts in <br />Washington; <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 33 JANUARY 21, 1997 <br />
