Otherwise, the refusal, revocation <br />or suspension shall become effective after the timely appeal period has expired. <br /> <br />State Law References: Authority to regulate, see S 7582.5, Bus. and P. Code. <br /> <br />Sec. 24-4. Violation. <br /> <br />It shall be unlawful and a misdemeanor for any person to operate as a private patrol <br />operator providing patrol and/or standing guard service without Police Chief approval <br />and compliance with this Chapter. Private patrol operators are regulated pursuant to <br />Business and Professions Code Section 7580 et seq. To operate, business licenses <br />must be continuously maintained and updated annually. <br /> <br />Section 4. Sections 24-5 through 24-18 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code are <br />hereby deleted in their entirety, <br /> <br />Section 5. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this <br />ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any <br />court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining <br />portions of this ordinance. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby declares that it <br />would have adopted this ordinance and each section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase <br />or portion thereof irrespective of the fact that anyone or more sections, subsections, <br />sentences, clauses, phrases, or portions be declared invalid or unconstitutional. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 161h day of October, 2006 <br /> <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br />Joseph W.
