Please describe your organization's outcome tracking system that will enable you to fulfill the outcome selected above.
Assistance League of Santa Ana (ALSA) measures program outcomes by tracking the mrmber of students served by the OSB program.
Each year we seek to provide appropriate clothing, shoes, and school supplies to a greater number of low-income children.
For the 2005-2006 school year, we increased the number of school uniforms provided to each child to two shirts and two pams/shorts
rather than one. Phis outcome allows students to alternate uniforms so that they have clean clothing each day.
OSB will increase its efficiency and impact by working with school personnel to decrease the number of students who do not show up
for their appointmem.
OSB receives referrals from nurses and teachers in the SAUSD. Students' financial eligibility to receive ck~ring has bcen verified by
the school. Due to our service to a transient population and with respect to families' privacy, ALSA does not track families served once
assistance has been given. ALSA only tracks how many times a child has received clothing. The maximum
is four times per child. However, qualitative feedback from school personnel indicates that studens are more eager to attend school
and participate more actively in the classroom when they have proper clothing and basic school supplies. The children who come to
the ALSA facility to be fitted with new clothes consistently reward ALSA volunteers with big smiles of appreciation and excitement.
A_t
