All seminars can be taught at the Santa Aha W/O/R/K Center or in a <br />local facility designated by the Center. <br /> <br />3-Hr. Core Seminars: The two core seminars are How to start a business <br />(which covers the fundamentals of starting a business, general information <br />and start-up planning that the participant can use immediately) and Self- <br />esteem & motivation. Our goal is to assist 40 participants per seminar. <br /> <br />See attached descriptions of the core seminars in Spanish. <br /> <br />21-Hr. Coztrse: Creando Tu Negocio Exitoso I (CTNE IJ "Creating Yottr <br />Sltccessftt[ B~tsiness I" <br />The second format consists ora comprehensive 21-hour course (divided <br />into 7 sessions of 3 hours each) covering the particulars of how to start up a <br />business from A to Z; it will serve 25 participants committed to developing a <br />feasibility plan to start up their businesses. This is a hands-on program that <br />encourages the participants to complete a feasibility study or business plan. <br />The course contents consist of topics such as an introduction to <br />entrepreneurial life, the entrepreneur and the company, the idea and the <br />feasibility plan, market research analysis, accounting controls, understanding <br />financial statements, business financing options and other subjects related to <br />creating a successful business model. The participants in this course receive <br />free of charge one-on-one coaching and business consulting during and after <br />the classes. All the students in the comprehensive 21-hour course will <br />receive the start-up kit "Creando Tu Negocio Exitoso" or CTNE (Creating <br />Your Successful Business). This kit consists of six cassettes, a workbook, a <br />business plan book, a computer diskette with a cash flow projection, and a <br />30~minute educational video. The cassette package comprises a <br />comprehensive program covering the above themes, as well as additional <br />topics such as business licenses, legal structures and causes of business <br />failure. The.participants in this program who successfully complete a <br />feasibility study or business plan will receive a certificate of completion <br />upon presentation of their project. <br /> <br />See curriculum of comprehensive 21-hour course and information on the <br />start-up kit <br /> <br />RECRUITMENT AND MARKETING <br /> <br />HBC will recruit students for this program in two ways: through the <br />enrollment of participants referred by the Santa Ana W/O/R/K Center and <br />through the implementation of a marketing campaign to target the Latino <br />population. Ali the material designed and all advertising ~vill mention and/or <br />include the logo of the Santa Ana W/O/R/K Center and the City of Santa <br />Ana.
