However, it <br />is sometimes necessary to retain outside counsel for specialized fields <br />of practice and cases that have extraordinary staffing requirements. <br />Under the direction of the City Attorney's Office, the law firm of <br />Carpenter, Rothans & Dumont will provide litigation legal services to <br />the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />The hourly rate charged by Carpenter, Rothans & Dumont is $170.00 and <br />has been guaranteed for a two year period. This rate is extremely <br />competitive for a firm with Carpenter, Rothans & Dumont's trial <br />experience and expertise. A thorough search for additional counsel was <br />conducted and multiple firms were considered. However, Carpenter, <br />Rothans & Dumont appears to be the premier candidate. The initial <br />assignment for the firm shall be by firm principal Steven Rothans for <br />defense of a police liability matter. <br /> <br />25X-1 <br />
