FOR CONSULTING SERVICES <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />J1J~v~(;:;-~ r'~,,;~ <br />CI~ MANAGER. <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the <br />Clerk of the Council to amend the agreement with CitCom, Inc. to provide <br />additional consulting services, increasing the compensation by $100,000 <br />for a total aggregate not to exceed $375,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />On September 7, 2004, the City Council approved an agreement with CitCom <br />Inc. for consulting services related to the Police Department's <br />implementation of technology initiatives to upgrade the Computer-Aided- <br />Dispatch, the Jail Management, and the Mobile Booking systems as well as <br />the Wireless Reporting for patrol officers. These ini tiati ves are funded <br />through three grant awards from the Department of Justice, Office of <br />Community Oriented policing Services (COP). In order to assist in meeting <br />grant and operational goals, additional consulting services from the <br />current provider, CitCom, are required. <br /> <br />In addition, the Fire Department is currently implementing numerous <br />technology initiatives, which require additional consulting services from <br />Ci tCom as well. proj ects include Mobile Data Computing, a new Computer- <br />Aided-Dispatch system and an enhanced Geographical Information System <br />(GIS) . <br /> <br />25K-1 <br />
