Waffle and his wife Myrtle. The house and garage, valued at $5,000 on the building
permit, were built in 1927, at which time fewer than 10 residences had been constructed on the block. The owners listed on the
permit, (Alison] Honer, Herizig and Farney, apparently developed the property and sold it. Bom in 1878, Mr. Waffle was a member
of a prominent Orange County family. He was related to Edson Dwight Waffle, a livery stable owner (whose stable was in fhe 400
block of West Fourth Street in Santa Ana) and the second husband of Willella Howe-Waffle, Santa Ana's pioneering female doctor.
Charles Waffle was a veteran of the Spanish-American War, a 50-year member of the Santa Ana Elks, and worked as an assistant
manager of Wilshire Oil Company, Incorporated, based in Orange and Huntington Beach. Charles Waffle lived in the house until his
death in 1965.
(See Continuation Sheet 3 of 3.)
611. Additional Resource Attributes: (List attributes and codes)
*B12.
