Agreement With DMJM Harris - AECOM <br />For Engineering Services For First <br />Street Bridge Widening <br />November 20, 2006 <br />Page 2 <br />Staff has solicited proposals for engineering services for the widening <br />of the First Street Bridge. Qualified firms were contacted and four <br />firms submitted proposals. Personnel from the Public Works Agency <br />evaluated the proposals. Each firm was rated according to its <br />qualifications, past experience and capacity to perform the required <br />work. The fee proposals for the top two firms were opened. <br />The ratings for all four firms and fees for the top two firms are as <br />follows: <br />SCORE FEES <br />DMJM Harris - AECOM 95 $989,332 <br />The HNTB Companies 94 $1,053,833 <br />Willdan & Associates 79 <br />IDC Consulting Engineers, Inc. 60 <br />Because of the experience of key personnel, client satisfaction, a <br />competitive fee proposal and their score, it is recommended that the firm <br />of DMJM Harris - AECOM be retained to perform the required services in <br />the not-to-exceed amount of $1,038,800, which includes a 5% contingency. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />In accordance with CEQA, the proposed request is not considered a <br />project.
