REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: NOVEMBER 20, 2006 TITLE: APPROPRIATION ADJUSTMENT HABITAT CONSERVATION FUND GRANT AWARD CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: APPROVED FOR ^ As Recommended PROGRAM ^ As Amended ^ Ordinance on 15` Reading ^ Ordinance on 2nd Reading ^ Implementing Resolution ^ Set Public Hearing For_ CIT ANAGER RECOMMENDED ACTION CONTINUED TO FILE NUMBER Approve an appropriation adjustment recognizing $100,000 in State of California Habitat Conservation Fund Program grant funds in revenue account (account no. 169-01-5378-1) and appropriate same to the Habitat Conservation Fund Program expenditure account (account no. 169-268-6631), and recognize and appropriate $102,500 in matching Park Acquisition and Development funds. DISCUSSION The City of Santa Ana Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency was successful in receiving a $100,000 Habitat Conservation Fund Program grant from the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation for the enhancement of the Santiago Trailhead entrance into the Santiago Park Nature Reserve. The project includes the installation of retaining walls, landscaping, security lighting, an information kiosk, and repaving of the parking lot.
