<br />FY05 HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM - VERSION 2.0, 12-22-2004 <br /> <br />a) Homeland Security Assessment and Strategy Integration <br /> <br />. Ensure that MMRS strategic goals, objectives, operational capabilities, and <br />resource requirements are adequately incorporated in and reflective of the <br />State and Urban Area Homeland Security Assessment and Strategy <br /> <br />. Coordinate with state and urban area operational plans and procedures <br /> <br />b) NRP and Planning Scenarios. MMRS jurisdictions should update/modify their <br />operational plans, and training and exercise activities as necessary to achieve <br />conformance with the NRP coordinating structures, processes, and protocols, and <br />the HSC Planning Scenarios, which are expected to be available soon. <br /> <br />c) Capability Focus Areas. The same eight Capability Focus Areas (CFAs) that were <br />identified for FY04 MMRS are again available for FY05 MMRS, For FY05 MMRS, all <br />CFAs, except number 6, are considered to be mandatory, All MMRS jurisdictions <br />should endeavor to meet the extent of preparedness described therein, The eight <br />CFAs are: <br /> <br />1, Radioloqical medical and health effects preparedness to manage exposed and <br />contaminated victims, population protection, and environmental health impacts of <br />a radiological release/nuclear detonation by terrorists, MMRS operational <br />planning must address radiological release/nuclear detonation for the effects of a <br />radiological dispersal device, an improvised nuclear device, or a designed <br />nuclear warhead, Visit the American College of Radiology at <br />http://www,acr.orq/s acr/index,asp for more information on medical <br />preparedness health impacts of a radiological release/nuclear detonation by <br />terrorists, <br /> <br />. Coordinate with medical society MMRS Steering Committee member to <br />partner with the radiology departments in jurisdiction's local area hospitals <br />and medical societies on impact of radiological medical preparedness on <br />routine medical practice (i.e. routine work of hospital radiology department <br />may be dramatically different from essential capabilities required for local <br />medical preparedness), <br /> <br />. Coordinate with hospital, medical, and EMS MMRS Steering Committee <br />members to partner with local medical radiology departments and emergency <br />medical services to identify the radiological medical management and <br />treatment duties delegated to emergency responders, <br /> <br />.
