Authorize the City Manager to accept a Hazardous Materials Emergency <br />Preparedness Grant in the amount of $22,000. <br /> <br />2. Approve an Appropriation Adjustment appropriating $27,500 of grant <br />funds and transferring from various Fire Department, Fire Prevention, <br />Salary account (011-322-6111) $5,500 in required matching funds into <br />the OES Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness Grant revenue <br />account (account no. 146-01-5361) and appropriating the same into the <br />OES Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness Grant expenditure <br />account (account no. 146-331-various). <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The State of California, Governor's Office of Emergency Services (OES) <br />has awarded the City of Santa Ana Fire Department an additional Hazardous <br />Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) Grant, for the period of Oct. 1, <br />2006 though Sept. 30, 2007. The grant is for $27,500, consisting of <br />$22,000 in grant funds and a required 20% ($5,500) in matching funds. <br />The grant is for the development or updating of an emergency response <br />plan to mitigate potential incidents involving the transporting of <br />hazardous materials through the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />208-1 <br />
