PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />There were no speakers. <br /> <br />90.B. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Moreno: <br /> <br />announced that the racquetball courts at Santa Aha College had been removed <br />to provide additional classroom space but indicated the City and College would <br />work together to replace them; <br />conmnended staff on completing landscaping projects along McFadden, Raitt, <br />and Edinger Streets; and <br />requested that the City Council not hold Study Sessions in locations outside of <br />the Council Chambers. <br /> <br />Councilmcmber Richardson: <br /> <br />congratulated 1st American Title Company on the groundbreaking of its new <br />facility in the South Coast Metro area last week and recognized City <br />Manager David Ream, City Attorney Joe Fletcher, Community <br />Development Agency Executive Director Cindy Nelson, Planning and <br />Building Agency Executive Director Robyn Uptegraff, Public Works <br />Agency Executive Director Jim Ross for their diligence in bringing the <br />project to fruition; and <br />requested that the Council meeting be adjourned in honor of World War II <br />aviator and Medal of Honor recipient Ken Walsh who passed away recently <br />and asked that a letter of condolence be sent to Mr. Walsh's family on behalf <br />of the City Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGuigan: <br /> <br />extended congratulations to the Wilshire Square Neighborhood Association <br />on its recent successful Summer Concert; and <br />requested Public Works staff to investigate debris and trash behind an <br />abandoned gas station at 626 S. Newhope.
