Appendix B — State OES Goals and Objectives, Continued <br />Goal E <br />Communications. Alert and Warning <br />Enhance and maintain emergency communications systems. Provide for the rapid <br />assessment and, as appropriate, verification, impact analysis and timely <br />notification of predictions, forecasts and /or warnings of potential and /or actual <br />emergencies or disasters, including terrorism and weapons of mass destruction <br />(WMD), in order to maximize protective actions, emergency preparedness and to <br />enhance response effectiveness. <br />Objectives <br />El Increase the agency's capability to assess impending threats and issue warnings. <br />E2 Enhance Regional, County (OA) and City EOC interoperable communications systems, <br />including, but not limited to: <br />• Radio systems <br />• Video conferencing <br />• Enhanced OASIS <br />• Compatible emergency information management systems, such as <br />RIMS <br />E3 Develop emergency public information. <br />E4 Improve the agency's ability to maintain day -to -day operations during disaster response <br />and recovery periods. <br />E5 Streamline and standardize administrative and program procedures. <br />E6 Improve communications with OES constituents, legislators and special interest groups. <br />Continued on next page <br />FY 06 EMPG Grant Guide for Local Government Page 32 of 51 23 <br />
