b. Dry pack with nonshrink grout around raceways that penetrate concrete <br />walls, floors, or ceilings aboveground, or use one of the methods specified <br />for underground penetrations. <br />C. Where an underground conduit enters a structure through a concrete roof or <br />a membrane waterproofed- wall or floor, provide -an acceptable, malleable - <br />iron, watertight, entrance sealing device. When there is no raceway <br />concrete encasement specified or indicated, provide such device having a <br />gland type sealing assembly at each end with pressure bushings that may <br />be tightened at any time. When there is raceway concrete encasement <br />specified or indicated, provide such a device with a gland type sealing <br />assembly on the accessible side. Securely anchor all such devices into the <br />masonry construction with one or more integral flanges. Secure membrane <br />waterproofing to such devices in a permanently watertight manner. <br />d. Where an underground raceway without concrete encasement enters a <br />structure through a nonwaterproofed wall or floor, install a sleeve made of <br />Schedule 40 galvanized pipe. Fill the space between the conduit and sleeve <br />with a suitable plastic expandable compound, or an oakum and lead joint, on <br />each side of the wall or floor in such a manner as to prevent entrance of <br />moisture. A watertight entrance - sealing device as specified may be used in <br />lieu of the sleeve. <br />4. Provide 3/16 inch nylon pull cord in each empty conduit for future use. <br />5. Use suitable caps to protect installed conduit against entrance of dirt and <br />moisture during construction. <br />6.
