A. Description: Refer to Section 16123 – Wire and Cable.
B. Locations: Each conductor at terminal boards and at each termination.
C. Legend:
1. Power Circuits: Branch circuit or feeder number indicated on drawings.
2. Control Circuits: Control wire number indicated on shop drawings.
D. Identification Tape: Identification tape for protection of buried electrical installation
shall be a 6 -inch wide red polyethylene tape imprinted "CAUTION— ELECTRIC
UTILITIES BELOW."
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 PREPARATION
A. Degrease and clean surfaces to receive nameplates and labels.
3.2 APPLICATION
A. Install nameplate and label parallel to equipment lines.
B. Secure nameplate to equipment surface using 316 stainless steel roundhead
machine screws. Sheet metal screws shall not be used.
C. Wire numbers shall be precisely located on each conductor, 3/8" from end of
insulation. Where solderless type terminals are used, the number shall be applied to
the wire not the terminal insulator.
D. Cast cover plates for switches and receptacles shall be engraved with circuit
designations.
E. For all electrical control panels, control station, disconnect switches, etc., the
CONTRACTOR shall furnish and install nameplates, which shall be black lamicoid
with white letters showing equipment name, equipment tag number. The nameplates
shall be fastened to the various devices with round head stainless steel screws. Each
disconnect means for service, feeder, branch, or equipment conductors shall have
nameplates indicating its purpose and its name and tag number. All field devices
such as pushbuttons, control stations, instruments, etc., shall have identification
nameplates.
F. All internal devices control panel, shall be properly identified with permanent tags as
described in the schematic diagrams.
G.
